Keep Your Baby Safe

Here are some parenting tips to follow if your baby is under 1 year old.

1. If your baby is less than one year old, keep pillows out of the crib.

2. The bedroom door should never be locked while baby is in there.

3. Baby should not sleep with any clothing that ties around the neck such as a bib.

4. All electrical outlets that are not in use should be plugged especially if your baby is crawling.

5. Do not let your baby be near any open window where the screen could give way.

Of course there are other things that should be considered. Take a look around your baby’s bedroom for any potential hazard.

Initial Three Years of Child’s Life Is Imperative

Initial Three Years of Child’s Life Is Imperative!! by CharlesHarmon

Trying to manage both the stress and family, we would have neglected a very important aspect of our child’s life: may be their emotional well being was neglected. In the child’s life, the first three years is a crucial stage and hence having a “part-time” parent float in and out of their life can be very painful and may weaken them.  Parents, educators, care takers and involved adults are essential as they make a joint effort to ensure that child’s emotional and physical needs are met on a daily basis.  By neglecting the child’s emotional needs in the first three years may result in devastating consequences like violent, disruptive and defiant behaviors.

Initial three years of child’s life is crucial in number of ways: When bonding and separation takes place. Whatever they do now and listen to are very important, if it is negative aspects then they never forget in their life. Hence parents have to take a very good care of their kid. A child may misbehave due to the interruptions in either of these processes which in turn will affect their relationships later in the life and will obstruct them in developing their own healthy relationships as adults. It is parent’s responsibility to ensure that, their child won’t get affected by any kind of interruptions.

Brain growth is most rapid during the first three years of the child’s life, the likes of which can’t be experienced again. Child’s brain would have been “Hardwired” from the experiences already by the time they are three years old.  The brain will be conditioned to expect positive things only if these experiences are loving, supportive, safe and positive. If those were frightening, hurtful, abusive, or dangerous experiences then the brain is conditioned to expect negative things.

It is crucial that parents and care takers should make a joint effort to ensure that the child’s emotional needs are met in a positive, constructive and healthy way. This is very important. Also parents should ensure that the care takers are stable and stagnant.

Always ensure that child is comfortable and secure with consistent schedules and routines. Do not compromise on this. Make sure you spend more time with your child in spite of your hectic life style and busy schedule. Assure your kids that, you care for them a lot and you are never too busy for them. Say “I Love You” to your children at least once every day.

Taking care of your child is a very stressful task as it requires ample management of emotional, behavioral and spiritual aspects of the parents. But never express that you are tired of them, always carry the smile on your face so that, they feel comfortable with you.

Child’s emotional well-being is as important as their physical needs, so make sure that your child knows that it is growing safe, secure, treasured and loved.

Child abduction is probably a thought that you would rather not let cross your mind. However, it happens.

Whenever you go out shopping, especially to the mall, do your best to take someone with you. The sad fact is that you must keep your eyes and or hands on your baby when you are out in public.

So if you bring along someone you know to help keep an eye on your baby while you shop that would be most excellent.

My sister-in-law mentioned that she leaves her two year old in a play area of a store when she shops in it. I was horrified!!

By the way, have you notice how people like to come and see your baby when you are out and about? If a person should say “Oh, your baby is so cute, can I hold her/him?” Just say NO!!

Don’t care if you offend them or not. It has been discovered that children who have been taken began with a contact out at a mall or other public place.
